practice makes perfect | On my recent trip to the Niederhorn in the Bernese Oberland, I hoped to meet adult ibexes with impressive horns. I also thought that the goats might already have young. I didn't meet any bucks, nor were there any newborns - this represents the compromise, so to speak: yearlings who still have a few excess strength... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comLagh da Saoseo | If I counted correctly, this was my fifth trip to Lake Saoseo. Although you can take a postbus from Sfazù to the Rifugio Saoseo, you have to reserve a seat here in advance and this is only possible from Monday to Friday. I was always there on weekends and my plans are too spontaneous for such long-term reservations. So always walk up the farm track, four kilometers, 400 meters in altitude, sometimes quite steep. And finally twenty minutes over a breakneck mountain path to the lake. The whole thing back afterwards. And then I've never been able to get a decent picture of this picturesque, but also quite overcrowded lake. That evening the clouds promised a colorful sunset. However, it had closed some time before, not even the mountain peaks could be seen anymore. A few minutes before sunset it broke up again, but there were still too many clouds (and in the wrong place) for the expected color spectacle. Still my best picture so far... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comthe magic of yellow larches | This morning I circumnavigated Lake Palpuogna four times. Again and again I switched from the west end to the east end and back in search of the best light. This is one of the last pictures I took quite late in the morning. Dense clouds had come up again from the west and the sun made the larches shine again against the dark background before it was swallowed up by the clouds - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comwindo into infinity | This year I hardly get to do landscape photography - almost all of my tours have wildlife photography as their goal. This was also the case last weekend with the ibexes in the Bernese Oberland. The landscape would not have been really spectacular with the classic landscape lens, the wide angle, but the view of details through the telephoto revealed some things worth seeing... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comMaloja rush hour | The motif is not particularly original, but there is a reason for that: I know few pass roads that have such beautiful serpentines, where there is still so much traffic in the evening and where you also have a good position for a photo.
After my first attempts with light trails in this place, it was clear to me that I needed a bright, snow-covered landscape so that the surroundings could also be seen in the picture. Now there was an opportunity and I was very lucky that there was a little "larch yellow" under the snow - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comengadine autumn | A well-known photographer told me last fall that it's completely out of the question to take a good picture in the blue sky. With this picture I try to prove the opposite. Of course, blue skies are actually rather boring, but a clear and cold night naturally promotes fog formation in the morning. And fog is again the dream of the photographer ... I had hoped for exactly this fog and despite the weather forecast (only cloudless sky the whole weekend) drove into the Engadin. I was lucky and on Saturday morning, the longed-for fog showed up... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comStellisee | it's just a walk of a few minutes from the top station Blauherd neariZermatt to the beautiful Stellisee - and like everywhere in this region the Matterhorn is omnipresent - Realisiert mit Pictrs.com
