Straumur delight | northern lights dance in the dark sky above the former cultural center Straumur near Reykjavík, Iceland and are reflected in a tidal pond - Realisiert mit Pictrs.commagic monday | sunrise on a jetty in Konstanz with upcoming fog - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comfairyland | an idyllic creek in a green forest with fern, moss and treestumps - Realisiert mit Pictrs.commoored | two boats in the fog on a wooden jetty - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comthe boat | a sinking rowing boat on a wooden jetty in the fog - Realisiert mit Pictrs.coma dream of ice and light | wintry landscape with fog, mountains, snow-covered trees an a river - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comStepahani | sunrise over an old wooden jetty at lake constance - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comnordic summer night | Summer is a wonderful time to photograph Vestrahorn in East Iceland. The sun rises and sets directly behind the mountain at this time of the year, and it is windless more often than at other times of the year, so there is a very good chance of a reflection in the shallow water of the lagoon.
In fact, this was the first time in a week that an interesting sunset showed up - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comLet there be light! | I was in Iceland for ten days and nights and until the last night there was never a clear sky. At least not at a time when there were also Northern Lights. I had to spend the last night near the airport because the flight was supposed to leave early in the morning. Unfortunately, there are no more spectacular landscapes in this area that can serve as a foreground for the Northern Lights, but the night was mostly clear, the Northern Lights were spectacular and so I just had to take the chance again.

I've always wanted to experience Goðafoss in winter, but when I was there I actually felt like I was in the poem by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben: it was bitterly cold, a strong wind was blowing from the north-east and it was snowing almost non-stop . While the waterfall was a spectacular sight, I wished there was some color in the sky at sunrise and sunset. - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comSkyline Dubai | Cloudless sunsets are generally not too spectacular, but the hazy sky over Dubai shines in the most beautiful colors about half an hour after sunset - Realisiert mit Pictrs.commorning at Dubai Business Bay | The first morning in Dubai. I only landed around midnight, then immigration control, fetching my luggage and picking up the rental car - I was at the hotel around 2 a.m. and at five the alarm clock rang again. Half an hour by car and then another 15 minute walk to this spot. I hadn't even positioned myself correctly and then I was able to get a picture just before the wind started and the reflection was gone. - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comray of hope | After numerous days with rain and storms, the sun finally showed up again this morning over a mirror-smooth Lake Constance. But not for long, because the fog soon covered everything in a thick gray blanket... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comUNESCO world heritage pile dwellings | Snow on Lake Constance doesn't happen very often. Miraculously, however, it had snowed a little on the Saturday before the third Advent in 2022 and everything was covered with a little white sugar. For a long time I had thought about where to photograph this rare event. My choice fell on the pile dwellings in Unteruhldingen, a place where I have not often photographed. Surprisingly, it had cleared up during the night - the morning was freezing cold, but the mood was very nice. - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comLagh da Saoseo | If I counted correctly, this was my fifth trip to Lake Saoseo. Although you can take a postbus from Sfazù to the Rifugio Saoseo, you have to reserve a seat here in advance and this is only possible from Monday to Friday. I was always there on weekends and my plans are too spontaneous for such long-term reservations. So always walk up the farm track, four kilometers, 400 meters in altitude, sometimes quite steep. And finally twenty minutes over a breakneck mountain path to the lake. The whole thing back afterwards. And then I've never been able to get a decent picture of this picturesque, but also quite overcrowded lake. That evening the clouds promised a colorful sunset. However, it had closed some time before, not even the mountain peaks could be seen anymore. A few minutes before sunset it broke up again, but there were still too many clouds (and in the wrong place) for the expected color spectacle. Still my best picture so far... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comthe magic of yellow larches | This morning I circumnavigated Lake Palpuogna four times. Again and again I switched from the west end to the east end and back in search of the best light. This is one of the last pictures I took quite late in the morning. Dense clouds had come up again from the west and the sun made the larches shine again against the dark background before it was swallowed up by the clouds - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comSkaftá | The Skaftá is a volcanic river in southern Iceland. It rises in the north-west of Vatnajökull, flows south in a wide arc and finally flows into the North Atlantic at Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Regular jökulhaups (glacial runs) from the Skaftárkatlar flood the river bed annually. The splitting of the river is due to the eruption of the Laki Craters (Lakagígar) in 1783 - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comsunset on the rocks | A wonderfully subtle and still sunset over the icebergs of Jökulsárlón. Here the sun didn't say goodbye with a lot of pomp and colorful fireworks, only a small hint of red adorned the clouds and formed a nice contrast to the cold colors of the water and the ice. A little mist rose from the lagoon, luckily the water was mirror smooth and the icebergs barely moved... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.coml'ultima lanterna | Venice, sestiere San Marco, january 2022 - Realisiert mit Pictrs.commalinconica calma | Venice, sestiere Dorsoduro, january 2022 - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comBaños Doña María de Padilla | I had already visited the Real Alcázar de Seville a few years ago, but this wonderful place had somehow escaped me during my visit at the time. Later I saw pictures of it and since then it has been clear: I absolutely have to go there again... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comMuseo de Artes y Costumbres Populares de Sevilla | Since I first visited Seville, I have loved this building and its reflection in the Estanque Central in the Plaza de América on the site of the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929. Apparently nobody was at home in the attic of the left tower this time :-) - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comLómagnúpur in the first light | The first look out of the window gave hope for a great sunrise: the whole sky was cloudy, only in the northeast was a cloudless strip. But little by little the clouds dissolved and the play of colors in the sky did not materialize. In between I also had to struggle with gusts of wind that rippled the surface of the water. But then the first rays of sun fell on the Lómagnúpur and there was a wonderful contrast between the reddish stone and the green moss at the foot of the mountain - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comwalking on sunshine | Spring is the time of territoral fights in the bird kingdom - quite a spectacle for the larger specimens - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comangelic | Always impressive when swans flap their wings... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comFriedrichshafen awakens | Four large arms factories (Zeppelin, Maybach, ZF and Dornier) made Friedrichshafen an important arms location in the Third Reich, which is why there were eleven air raids on the city between June 1943 and February 1945. Friedrichshafen was not completely destroyed, but the old town and the urban structure no longer existed. The city was rebuilt very quickly, but with a completely new, modern cityscape that lacks any historical charm. But at the blue hour in the morning and seen from the Moleturm, even Friedrichshafen has its charm - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comWasserburg | For a change I went to a (for me) new photo spot. Since this place is half an hour's drive from my home, I was all the more pleased that the conditions were quite good. There are undoubtedly sunsets with more dramatic skies, but Lake Constance is rarely as smooth as it is on this evening - Realisiert mit Pictrs.coma wintry fairytale | Already a week vacation and the first time. that there was some color in the sky early in the morning instead of fog ... Another novelty: I'm usually all alone in this place at sunrise, this morning for the first time a second person with a camera and tripod was there. Not that it will become a hotspot! - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comOh happy day | Already a week vacation and the first time. that there was some color in the sky early in the morning instead of fog ... Another novelty: I'm usually all alone in this place at sunrise, this morning for the first time a second person with a camera and tripod was there. Not that it will become a hotspot! - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comawaiting the first rays of sun | sunrise at the italian lago di federa in autumn with yellow larches an a wintry landscape - Realisiert mit Pictrs.commorning at the pond | After a few days of photographic boredom, it is now back: the morning mist. A few rain showers in the last few days and finally bearable night temperatures have provided ideal conditions - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comgreen hell | After it had rained again and again for a week, I thought that the Geratser waterfall in the Bavarian Allgäu should have a little more water. Unfortunately, that was not the case, but due to the diffuse light under a cloudy sky, the fresh spring green shone almost neon-colored... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comReinebow | While I waited an eternity for the perfect moment - sun on the Olstinden and reflection in the water - a rainbow formed over the Gravdalsbukta for a short time. Unfortunately, a fishing boat had caused a few waves shortly before - a perfect reflection in the smooth water would have been the salt in the soup here... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comdancing lights | my one-week stay in Lofoten was - as always when I am there - shaped by wind. Miraculously, the wind paused that night for the duration of the Northern Lights spectacle and the water came to rest so that the landscape and the Northern Lights could be reflected in the fjord. Just a few minutes later, wind sets in and waves start again... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comSnow-White and Rose-Red | The red rorbuer of Hamnøy present themselves in a fresh white dress on this cloudy morning from a classic perspective - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comBlejsko jezero | Lake Bled in northern Slovenia is known to photographers for its foggy moods. Of course, I also hoped that the morning mist would waft around the island and allow mysterious insights and views. Unfortunately, that was not granted to me, only a small amount of steam rose from the water surface into the cold air. Since I will probably have to plan a stay in this area again... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comPhare du Petit Minou | The Phare du Petit Minou in the district of the commune of Plouzané in the department of Finistère marks the passage of the Strait of Brest. Its identifier is Fl(2)WR.6s, its range is 19 nm. What makes it attractive to photographers is the winding, paved path that leads across an arched bridge to the lighthouse - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comvisioni di Venezia | Rio del Scoacamini, Sestiere San Marco, Venezia - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comstill waters | For a long time I wanted to photograph a spectacular sunset in this wonderful place. This is only possible in the winter months - partly because of the position of the sun, partly because of the water level of Lake Constance, which is low enough only in winter. Cloudless evenings do not really promise spectacular sunsets, but that evening the water was as glassy as you rarely see. I was lucky and there were also intense colors... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comthe red huts | This is the "back" of the village Hamnøy in Lofoten - a little further to the left is the harbor of the fishing village. On this cloudy morning, the red fishermen's huts are the only splash of color in the otherwise monochrome landscape... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comswirling fog | It took a long time until I could make useful pictures of northern lights. So far, either the foreground was not suitable or the landscape in the picture too dark or the picture quality bad or all together. At last, everything went well together on this Lofoten journey, even though the Northern Lights forecast was anything but good. This picture was taken the first night - the lights came early, I was still on my way to the quarters and was (as so often) surprised by the lights. Nevertheless, to the fast I found even a quite acceptable foreground - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comsymphony of fog | after a rainy day the Hintersee in the bavarian Berchtesgadener Land showed up with layers of fog light enough to allow the morning sun to shine through the fog and low enough so that the mountains appear above the fog... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comWuhnleger | Wuhnleger is a meadow near the town of Tiers in the south tyrolean dolomites. From this meadow you have a wonderful view to the rosengarten group and the towers of vajolet. The special highlight is a small pond that reflects the scenery in its mostly glassy water... - Realisiert mit Pictrs.comStellisee | it's just a walk of a few minutes from the top station Blauherd neariZermatt to the beautiful Stellisee - and like everywhere in this region the Matterhorn is omnipresent - Realisiert mit Pictrs.com
